Great story with great art style.

NOicee Storyline
-
Evoking a certain comic book-esque imagery in each and every scene, the noir-inspired story and characters have a tangible flavor that the gaming community hasn't seen in a very long time.

Amazing art direction, a host of complex characters and interesting situations make this an amazing follow up to the walking dead
-
Bigby himself is a serviceable anti-hero that you'll grow to cheer for, if not love.
-
While you play as 'the big bad wolf' of fables of old, and despite being grounded in a mix of real life and fairytale atmosphere, all the characters feel human even when they clearly aren't.

While their WalkingDead games are great on their own, this has more creative agency that permeates throughout the experience.
-
Even though it's more like you're watching a movie in which you can choose what the main character do and reacts, it still never feels like it.
-
This is not a game, this is a interactive story where the outcome depends on the decision you take, the way you respond,or by simply staying silent.

intriguing and entertaining walking simulator
-
The Familiarity of it all, the detective gameplay, the gorgeous animation, the noir feel, so far, this game is a 10.
-
Has some elements of the Point And Click adventures of the past. I really enjoyed that aspect.

As well, the overall atmosphere and tone.

Storywise so far (I'm at chapter 3 when I'm writing this review) is fantastic, and the voice acting and general mood in the game is perfect.

So yeah, the voice acting is as stellar as one would expect from a Telltale game.
-
I enjoyed the storytelling, the art style, the voice acting.

world

Besides that the world of fables within The Wolf Among Us is extremely intriguing and the game as a whole touches on many mature themes and problems with modern society while still being ultimately grounded in a fantasy world and allowing the player to step in the shoes of the big bad wolf.
-
You get the jist and the setting is familiar and comfortable.
-
The characters and setting are very interesting and fairly well realized.

Speaking of tone, the music, a phenomenal mix of classic instruments and synth balancing a distinct dance of being fantastical and depressing.

Amazing and intriguing story, also this game's musics no words needed it's beautiful you can feel that vibe easily.
-
Really good story, cool music, and memorable characters.

I want this to be 20 episodes long, unfortunately I know it wont.
-
Some episodes are too short and that kinda sucks. So overall The Wolf Among Us is an amazing adventure game which i suggest you pick up no matter what.
-
This being said, i do wish it was longer and would love to hear that they are making a follow-up.

writing
21 positive · 4 negative · 0 mixed · 0 neutral
-
Wolf's greatest strength lies in the quality of it's writing backed by a familiar yet distinctive art style.
-
The game has outstading art, music and writing.
-
This game was far more entertaining and much more well written.

-
combat
13 positive · 6 negative · 2 mixed · 2 neutral
-
It doesn't hurt that the action sequences available within the game are ultimately better executed as well, you just have to be patient sometimes before you get to them.
-
The final episode had some pretty epic action scenes, but the **** doesn't feel like much of a threatening antagonist, thus the trial scene wasn't as tense or climactic as I expected.
-
There's hard hitting gritty action and drama worthy of Classic Noir, Suspense, Mystery books and films, all done with a modern twist.

replayability
21 positive · 2 negative · 0 mixed · 0 neutral
-
I played this game on ps3 when it first came out and enjoyed it but honestly forget the entire plot line, so I downloaded it yesterday on steam and am already on chapter 5, honestly it holds up incredibly well.
-
Good replayability value with all the different dialogue options.
-
I want to replay to see what would happen differently.

-
pacing
10 positive · 7 negative · 2 mixed · 0 neutral
-
It's rough and dirty in all of the right ways that kept me hanging on until the very end.
-
Even the short timer on conversation choices keeps the momentum going - it gives it a feeling of actually being in the conversation where you can't take a minute or five to pick the "right" response.
-
This game never made me bored, every piece of the story was well planned and even finding out who the guilty was since the very begining, it was still surprising at the end, because there's so much more envolved than just "this person did it, end of the story".

bugs

There where a few times it got a little buggy in Chapter 5. However, overall it was a game that I couldn't get enough of and if I didn't have to work I'm sure I would have beat it in one night because I was having so much fun playingthis game.
-
I would ocassinally get a bug where all characters would be frozen and all dialogue choices would be "This choice is blank!".
-
The Game Was Good, It had a good story and alot of Twists, There were a few Bugs in the game like how it starts of a location and the only options there are to say is (this is'nt an Opition) but beside that the game was good,

animation

-
The Familiarity of it all, the detective gameplay, the gorgeous animation, the noir feel, so far, this game is a 10.
-
Take for example the transitions from one scene to the next, and the facial animations; they're executed extremely well in comparison to many of Telltale's other games.
-
The facial expressions are also much more realistic than in TWD or any other Telltale game so far.
-
-
controls
4 positive · 3 negative · 0 mixed · 1 neutral
-
Gameplay is absolutely a dream of seemless movements, mixed with fast reaction times, both via hands and of the mind.
-
beside story as gameplay there is not so much for gameplay its just dialogues and clicking not a deep gameplay but still smooth.
-
As far as game play goes its a pretty standard telltale game but the mechanics are butter smooth and it really makes you regret your decisions, which gives this game and its decisions replay value.

This game won't change your life likely, but, it'll make you think a lot about stuff.

lore

-
Amazing lore, amazing story, amazing characters, great gameplay, fun and engrossing plot, lots of twists, easily replayable.
-
The source material is unique and intriguing.
-
No worries if you're not familiar with it, though, Telltale writers are/were more than competent at organically explaining all of the little nuances and lore tidbits necessary to fully understand the full story here.

Where is part 2? 😤😤😠😠😡😡🤬🤬 Don`t make us wait any longer Telltale whats wrong with you?
-
I know they’re planning to release season 2, but it’s been about 2 years since the trailer and 5 years since that announcement.
-
The only negative i have is that we didn't got more seasons of this game, yes i know we are getting Season 2 eventually.

-
performance
4 positive · 2 negative · 1 mixed · 0 neutral
-
You don't need too beefy of a graphics option for this game, and I'd imagine that the Intel HD Graphics chip could handle this without an issue.
-
There are no bugs of any kind that I could find, no delays, glitches, or frozen screens.
-
It plays great even on my crappy setup.

How this report was made
- Population
- all Steam reviews of the game (every language, purchase type, and verdict), walked newest-first per window; only English-language reviews are analyzed
- Sample
- 572 English reviews, time-proportional draw over 156 windows (newest-first within each), taken from an all-language walk and kept English-only — where English is a minority the sample runs smaller than the draw, and every margin of error is computed at 572
- Aspect yield
- 348 of 572 analyzed reviews carry at least one aspect (60.8%); every share on this page divides by all 572
- Interval regime

- 0.801 [0.752–0.844] (F1 against a human-labeled test set; 1.0 is best)
- · quotes filed under the wrong aspect
- 11.6% [6.6–19.6] of quotes, measured by hand on a sample; lower is better — measured on the prior model (2026-08-05); re-measurement pending
- · independent model vs. production labels
- 0.791 [0.772–0.810] (F1 of the production labeler against an independent judge model) — measured on the prior model (2026-07-25); re-measurement pending
