Noita
analyzed 2026-10-10 · sample of 655 English reviews across the whole review history
Across 655 sampled reviews, gameplay draws the most consistent praise: 70 of the 79 reviews mentioning it are positive, with players describing wands loaded with "explosive, duplicating, teleporting, exploding ducks". Exploration, physics, and build variety follow the same pattern, and addictiveness is nearly unanimous at 35 positive out of 38. Difficulty is the most discussed aspect at 17.3% of reviews, but it splits: 62 positive against 28 negative, with players calling it "very hard and intense rogue-like" while others note the rewards come from "the permanent game-knowledge upgrades". The clearest friction sits in balance and learning curve. Balance draws 19 negative mentions against a single positive, with complaints about "Too much rng that kills runs" and a game that "isn't afraid to kill you unfairly". Learning curve is similarly contested, 16 negative to 7 positive, and progression splits 11 negative to 9 positive, including "having your progress reset". Performance and stability are small but negative-leaning. Smaller groups recur positively: mods, music, art style, and updates each draw almost entirely favorable mentions, and price value is praised as "worth twice the price tag in my personal enjoyment". Players also raise the wand system's opacity, guides, and run length as recurring topics.

Incredibly difficult, the rewards come from the permanent game-knowledge upgrades of "how do I not die this time?

This game requires constant focus like no other, but it's balanced with engaging gameplay and the complex wand building system.

Mixing the interactions between different falling-sand type elements while loading up your wand with explosive, duplicating, teleporting, exploding ducks makes the list of my top 3 games of all time.

Noita is a carefully crafted masterpiece that is both infuriating and erntertaining enough with lots of little secrets and gameplay that can be easy very complicated.

learning curve
7 positive · 16 negative · 2 mixed · 16 neutral
-
Something I would certainly play again but I would only recommend to people who are okay with sharp learning curves (much like other rogue likes)
-
The wand building mechanics are very simple and intuitive once you know them, but stuff like chainsaws, spell wrapping, concentrated spells, etc. are not clear with how they work.
-
The developers have designed this game in such a way that if you do not look anything up and you play entirely blind, you die.

I find myself playing longer than I plan - just about everytime
-
its can be pretty frustrating, but the low bar for commitment and the rogue elements really make this game captivating and its a great way to spend 10 minutes.

Another 'one more go' game

I still know so little about the vast map, crazy wand builds, and any of the bosses.

Too much rng that kills runs.
-
this game is extremely unforgiving, extremely subject to rng, and while the mechanics and the world are amazing and interesting and theres so much to love about this game, loving these parts of it have nothing to do with whether or not youll like this game.
-
The sense of adventure and exploration this game gives off is so magical, although this game isn't afraid to kill you unfairly or grant you a god run out of thin air, that feeling of discovery never goes away after every new attraction you discovery.

All challenge is removed. All difficulty is removed. You explore and explore and you steamroll everything without even being able to see what you are destroying.

If you enjoy frequently respawning and having your progress reset, this is the game for you.

Good game if you like taking hours to get a good build just to then test a new spell and immediately blow yourself to pieces, would defiantly recommend.

How this report was made
- Population
- all Steam reviews of the game (every language, purchase type, and verdict), walked newest-first per window; only English-language reviews are analyzed
- Sample
- 655 English reviews, time-proportional draw over 86 windows (newest-first within each), taken from an all-language walk and kept English-only — where English is a minority the sample runs smaller than the draw, and every margin of error is computed at 655
- Aspect yield
- 320 of 655 analyzed reviews carry at least one aspect (48.9%); every share on this page divides by all 655
- Interval regime
- calm: standard margins of error for a share of a sample (Wilson interval), no widening needed
- Fetch paths
- 86 time windows fetched directly (windowed)
- Language mix
- 1,000 fetched: english 656 · russian 111 · schinese 60 · 16 more
- Steam-marked windows
- none flagged by Steam (Valve's off-topic flagging began March 2019)
- Marked share
- 0.0% of sample inside marked windows, under the 2% floor
- Narrative
- passed the grounding gate first try
- Evidence floor
- aspects and emergent themes appear only with 5+ supporting reviews; smaller counts sit at the classifier's false-positive floor
- Instrument readings
- measured once on the study corpus for this model and prompt: frozen calibration, not properties of this run
- · aspect tagging vs. human labels
- 0.801 [0.752–0.844] (F1 against a human-labeled test set; 1.0 is best)
- · quotes filed under the wrong aspect
- 11.6% [6.6–19.6] of quotes, measured by hand on a sample; lower is better — measured on the prior model (2026-08-05); re-measurement pending
- · independent model vs. production labels
- 0.791 [0.772–0.810] (F1 of the production labeler against an independent judge model) — measured on the prior model (2026-07-25); re-measurement pending
